Here at New Beginning, nbkids has been designed with your children in mind. With infant and toddler care and classes ranging from preschool through 5th Grade, your child will receive biblical, practical teaching all while having fun.

Who Will Teach My Kids?

Through the leadership of our Co-Children's Directors, Stephanie Pless and Elaine Powers, every child is taught by a plethora of volunteers and staff each week. Each volunteer is carefully evaluated for safety purposes for your children, and will give practical, biblical teaching on Sunday mornings.

If you would like to find out more about volunteering for nbkids, contact us at office@nbshoals.com for more information.

"Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court."

Psalms 127:3-5

How Does The Check-In Process Work?

At the current moment, our nbkids classrooms and facilities do not have a check-in system, so all you need to do is bring your child and drop them off to the age-appropriate classroom. On your first time dropping off your children, we will need to get some simple information about you and your children so we can know the best way to take care of and teach your children practically.

Our staff in nbkids is committed to make sure that your children are taken care of while being a light shining towards the children that walk through the doors at our church each Sunday.

    Infants-1st Grade

Mrs. Elaine Powers, affectionately known as "Mimi" by any child who has ever been guided by her, has been a Co-Children's Director at New Beginning since its founding in 1998. While her main focus is leading preschoolers through fun and practical studies of the Bible each week, she has also coordinated events inside of nbkids such as the annual fall festival and Christmas programs. Her and her husband, Kenny, love to spend time with their daughter and three grandchildren.

    2nd-5th Grade

Having an extensive background in teaching in public school system for 24 years, Stephanie is a perfect leader for our 2nd-5th Grade students. Raised in church all of her life, Stephanie has been brought up and cultivated her faith in Christ and has a passion for children inside and outside the church building. Her and her husband, Ken, love spending time with their children and her favorite two cats, Sambo and Wylie.
